The Awards

We are proud to announce that the second round of  2019 AFS UK volunteer abroad scholarships are open for applications until Midnight GMT, 20 May 2019. We have almost £3,000 available that will be split over a number of scholarships for travel to 7 different countries for the lucky winners. No cash will be disbursed, the scholarship will result in a discount on the programme fee.

To receive the award, each winner must book their programme before 30 June 2019.

Should the scholarship not be taken up by the allocated winners, runners up may be contacted following this booking deadline.

How to apply

Those wishing to apply for a scholarship should fill out the form below including a “WeTransfer” link to their 1-2 minute application video. We are looking for inspirational individuals who will come home with a renewed passion for volunteering internationally and at home. Winners should be imaginative in their submissions and answer the three important but simple questions below.

Time is short and we are ready to be wowed!

The Questions

  • Why do you want to volunteer overseas?

  • Why do you deserve this award?

  • How will you bring your experience back home to your own community?

The third party platform you can use to upload your video is WeTransfer, which can be found here.
