This 12-months program provides you with an easily accessible opportunity for effecting positive societal change through volunteering, while improving your skills and competences for personal, educational, and professional development. Non-formal and formal learning opportunities during the program will enable you to acquire essential competences for personal growth in order to become an Active Global Citizen, thereby improving your employment prospects and facilitating your transition into the labor market.

The project is looking for a young, highly motivated team member to play an active part in their organization and to contribute to the daily work routine of the project.

Project Description: International Education Centre Hamburg

Within the Young Workers Volunteer Program, AFS Germany offers the possibility to work in an International Education Centre in Germany. The project is located in Hamburg, Northern Germany. As a Young Worker you will work in a project, that organizes political education projects and international meetings for people who are engaged in the youth welfare sector and social services. The Topics for these meetings are social and educational action in an European immigration society, communication and multilingualism, participation and diversity. It also organizes political trainings, further education and international exchanges in the field of organizing education and social work.

 

  • During the trainings, visitors get accomodated in the project
  • The centre offers 30 beds and 3 seminar rooms for its guests
  • The centre is located in former military barracks which turned into a vivid place of education, arts, culture and craft.
